A Box Opening Feature That Comes With the Tear Strip Tape
Tear strips built into the cardboard work well if you design the tear strip around the box from the start. However, our boxes’ centers usually use many box sizes and shapes on the same line. Changing every box to include a built-in tear strip takes too much effort. Custom tear strip tape solves this problem because the strip is inside the tape. When you seal any box or package with this tape, it opens easily without changing the box design.
Filament Reinforcement and Tear Control
We make this tear strip tape wholesale with filament that operates in the tape backing. It gives directional tear strength that plain adhesives lack. Polyester tape tears through the pattern when you pull the tape in the boxes. It does not tear across the box or break open while a box moves to customers’ hands.
Besides polyester, standard box tape works differently because it must resist tears from all sides of the box.
Width and Application
Normal tear strip borders start at 2 inches wide for small envelopes and boxes. They go up to 3 inches wide for heavy cardboard boxes that need a bigger strip to stay closed. The width changes how well the tape holds and how easily it rips. A wider tape keeps a heavy box lid shut better. However, you must pull it with even force across its full width so it tears straight rather than crooked.
Print and Branding
We can print logos, brand colors, and safety notes directly on custom printed tear strip tape just like regular tape. You can leave the lift tab and start area blank so customers can find the tear strip tape easily.
